Expansion Vessels

Expansion Vessels are designed to allow pressure relief as the water expands. In an unvented or sealed system, water expanding would without a vessel, have nowhere to go, splitting pipes and water tanks as the same total literage of water would take up more volume when hotter than when cold. These consist of a metal case, with an internal rubber diaphragm that reactively expands as the water temperature rises, ensuring there is always a pocket of air that regulates the pressure of the hot water heating system. In this way, expanded hot water will always eventually make it out into the taps, and there will be no volatile air pockets in the water flow.
